What it does

Genie lets business users ask questions about company data in natural language and get answers without SQL or a BI tool. Subject matter experts set up a Genie space with curated instructions, example queries, SQL functions and semantic definitions so that answers use the organisation's own terminology. An agent mode runs multi-step analysis and tests hypotheses, and responses can be monitored, benchmarked for accuracy and improved from feedback. It is available to Databricks customers with data in Unity Catalog and billed at standard DBU rates, and it can be embedded into Microsoft Teams, Slack, Glean or custom apps through an API.
