What it does

Underlord is the AI co-editor inside Descript, the text-based video and audio editor. A user uploads or records footage, Descript transcribes it, and Underlord can be directed to turn the raw recording into a tight cut, remove filler words, clean audio, add captions and B-roll, and produce clips, translations and reformatted versions for YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn. The user reviews the result in the transcript editor and exports it, and an API and MCP allow programmatic editing.
